This Privacy Policy explains how the Petaluma Woman’s Club (“PWC,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information through our website, www.petalumawomansclub.com. PWC is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) social organization based in Petaluma, California. This policy applies only to information collected through this website. It does not apply to other websites we link to, including the third-party services described below, which have their own privacy policies.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it, such as when you:

  • Sign up for our event and newsletter emails
  • Submit a clubhouse rental inquiry or contact form
  • Apply for membership or a scholarship
  • Create or use a member account to log in to member areas of the site

This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any details you include in your message or application.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we collect general usage information through Google Analytics, described in the next section. This includes pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use this information in aggregate and do not use it to personally identify visitors.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect the usage information described above. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will still work if you do.

Our website also uses cookies needed for basic functions, such as keeping members logged in to member areas.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to these signals, our website does not currently respond to them.

How We Use and Share Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, process rental requests and applications, manage memberships, and send event and club updates you have signed up for. Access is limited to designated PWC officers and volunteers who need it for these purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed for them to do so:

  • Website hosting. Our website and form submissions are stored with our web hosting provider.
  • Email. We use an email service provider to send event and newsletter emails.
  • Google Analytics. As described above.
  • Zeffy. Event ticket purchases and donations to the PWC Foundation are processed by Zeffy on its own website. Payment information you enter there is collected by Zeffy, not by PWC, and is governed by Zeffy’s privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the information or services you requested, manage your membership, and meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

  • Emails. You can unsubscribe from event and newsletter emails at any time using the link in any email.
  • Your information. You can ask us to review, update, or delete the personal information you have provided by contacting us below. Members can also update their account details by logging in.

Children’s Privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
